The difference between CPAP and BIPAP is that CPAP stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, which provides a constant pressure to keep the airways open, while BIPAP stands for Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure, which provides a variable pressure to help with breathing.
- CPR machines only provide one level of air pressure, whereas bi-level ventilators offer two different levels of air pressure.
- CPAP works by continuously applying pressure to the airway to assist breathing. BIPAP applies high pressure when the patient inhales and provides low pressure when they exhale.
- The air pressure of a BiPAP machine is adjusted accordingly, but this is not the case with a CPAP machine.
- CPR machines require patients to exert additional effort to inhale and exhale air.
